Giving a big relief to Dhanush, the son-in-law of superstar Rajinikanth, the Madras High Court here on Friday, dismissed the case filed by an elderly couple claiming that actor Dhanush was their son. Dhanush has been involved in the bitter paternity battle since long time.
Elderly couple had sought a monthly maintenance of Rs 65,000
An elderly couple, Kathiresan and Meenakshi, had sought a monthly maintenance of Rs 65,000 from Raanjhanaa actor, claiming that he was their third son. The couple claimed that in childhood, he had run away from home to enter films. The court had earlier suggested a DNA test to resolve the issue, but Dhanush and his lawyers had opposed it.
On February 28, the Madurai bench of the high court had ordered the Madurai Medical College to ascertain if the actor had these two identification marks. The doctors were also asked if the mole and the scar could be erased without a trace. The doctors could not find any identification marks mentioned. They agreed that though it is possible to remove superficial moles using laser technology, scars can't be removed.
Dhanush had requested that the case to be quashed
The elderly couple had alleged that after running away from the home, the actor met filmmaker Kasturi Raja, believed to be his biological father, and worked as a domestic help. They also claimed that Kasturi Raja's family accepted him as their son following his cinematic success. Dhanush had requested that the case to be quashed as the entire statement is false, highlighting the maintenance sought. He also claimed that the couple was being used to blackmail and extract money from him.
